Drawing in the Sand

20120213-075159.jpg

It began simply as a thank-you note to good friends at sunset. I was going to email them a photo…(sorry Hallmark, it’s a different era).

A very small girl from the Sea Gypsy fishing village watched me write in the sand with a stick, then came over to show me how it’s really done! She picked up the stick and set to work, quickly drawing around my note. There was such a flurry of activity and sinking light that she was almost impossible to photograph, but the following pics still tell the story nicely.

PS: if you couldn’t tell, it’s a fish!

Now that’s the kind of ART I REALLY enjoy….it’s too bad we “grown-up” lose that ability!
